Footers

IDv2 currently has just 1 footer.

Block Structure:
Group – full width with background color
— Group – content width
— — Site Logo
— — Paragraph – containing shortcode

Site Logo

The Site Logo block is updated when you change the logo in the header. It’s a dynamic block and a site only has one logo. So, in instances where you need the footer logo to be different than the header logo, you’ll have to use a regular image block instead. Just be sure to link it to the home page.

Copyright

I’ve created a shortcode to easily insert the site copyright with our link.

© 2026 | Identi-Theme v2 | Designed & Developed by

The shortcode is in a paragraph instead of the shortcode block to allow editors some access to the text settings (meaning you can change the text color/size/etc if needed). However, the GCC logo will always be white. If a different color is needed, let the developer know.

The contents are dynamically generated. It will always show the current year. Identi-Theme v2 will be replaced with the site title. If you haven’t updated that, maybe now would be a good time.

Editing The Footer

To edit the Footer, visit Appearance > Editor > Patterns. Under Template Parts you’ll see Footer with a number. The number is how many footer patterns exist.

Click Footer, then click on the preview of the footer you want to edit. Now click the little pencil icon to open the editor.

You can edit this like any other bit of content but I suggest keeping everything inside the groups for layout consistancy.

Creating New Footers

Because of the amount of template editing involved, I do not recommend creating additional footers. Most websites have a universal footer and you are welcome to edit the existing footer as needed. However, I recommend keeping the copyright shortcode.
