Block Styles

Rather than continually changing styles on individual blocks, we can preset some styles on the blocks. This will save time and make those “developer edits” easier to implement. (Remember… specificity)

For example, if you’d like to make all of the list items across the site be italicized, you don’t have to set this on each list block you add. Instead, edit the block styles.

Editing Block Styles

To edit block styles, visit Appearance > Editor > Styles to access the style editor. On the right side of the page, you’ll see the Styles panel. Click on Blocks.

From here, you can search for the block you want or simply scroll down in the list. Click the block you want to edit styles for.

Each block has it’s own set of styles available to edit. When you’re done, be sure to click the blue Save button in the upper right corner. You’ll need to click save twice.
